Energy Assessment

The EcoSmartHome Home Energy Assessment has been designed to take a 'snapshot' of your home to assess its level of energy efficiency.

The assessment looks at where your power bill is currently going, how savings could be made and what energy efficiency products would best suit your home.

The assessment is undertaken by independent energy assessors.

Some of the factors our assessors consider are:

  • How old is the house?

  • How many people live in it?

  • What are your electricity bill's like?

  • How is the house heated?

  • Is the house insulated?

  • Is the house draughty?

  • What electricity power plan are you on and is this the most appropriate?

The assessment (which takes about an hour and a half for our assessor to complete) involves recording a range of information about the home, as well as inspecting roof and underfloor insulation, checking the hot water cylinder and generally determining where efficiency gains and savings can be made.

Once the assessment is done the assessor will prepare a report on your home that indicates:

  • How efficient the home currently is

  • What energy efficiency solutions would be most effective

  • Options and costs for purchasing energy efficiency solutions

There is no obligation to purchase anything following the assessment, but products are available for those homes that require improvements in energy efficiency.
