Project Funding

The EcoSmartHome project is receives funding support from The EECA ENERGYWISETM Funding programme.

Under this scheme an interest subsidy or cash subsidy is available on all products except solar water heating.

The interest subsidy means that most product packages are able to gain five years no interest financing. More expensive packages can gain no interest financing for a shorter term. The maximum interest subsidy is $1,400.

For those who wish to pay cash for products a 10% product subsidy is available to a maximum of $560.

To qualify for an interest subsidy or cash subsidy the following eligibility criteria must be met:

  • The homeowners at the time of signing must earn a combined income of less than $100,000 p.a. (1 or 2 earners) or less than $140,000 (3 or more earners); and

  • The home must be a residential dwellings built prior to 1 April 1978.

One ENERGYWISETM Funding interest subsidy or grant is available for:

  • A Homeowner’s primary place of residence; and/or

  • Each of any residential tenancies a Homeowner may own.

ENERGYWISETM Funding is not available for insulation or heating measures that are or have previously been subject to Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority funding.

EcoSmartHome Loans, provided by ASB Bank, are available at discounted interest rates (whether or not the homeowner is eligible for an EECA subsidy)
