Energy Mad VERs will be registered on the M-co Registry prior to being offered for sale.
Two options are available to the successful buyer of a parcel of Energy Mad VERs. After settlement of the agreed sale price, Energy Mad will contact the buyer post purchase and ask which option they would like:
Option 1 – if the buyer wants to retire the purchased VERs immediately and go ‘carbon neutral’, Energy Mad will instruct the M-co Registry to transfer the purchased VERs into the name of the buyer. The buyers name will be recorded alongside the unique serial number located on each VER certificate. All retired VER certificates will be retained and will be viewable on the M-co Registry indefinitely for future auditing purposes.
Option 2 – if the buyer wants to hold or on-sell the purchased VERs, they must open a trading account on the M-co Registry. When the buyers trading account is active, Energy Mad will instruct the M-co Registry to transfer the purchased VERs into the buyers trading account. The buyers name will be recorded alongside the unique serial number located on each VER certificate. Note that while it is free to open a trading account on the M-co Registry, account fees may be incurred at a later date. The fee structure is published on the M-co Registry website.
